MYALPAMAYO
An installation situated within the former reception room at the grade II listed Jesmond Dene Banqueting Hall commissioned by the Armstrong Studio Trust. Heated by the sun casting through the skylight atop the triple height void, the black pvc membrane attains body temperature, an extension of ones own skin. Experienced in discrete parts, the membranes whole remains and engages psychological construct. 'Myalpamayo' as such can be considered as a visceral appendage to ones own body, permeating both physical and psychological space, every nuance of the reception room can be experienced with heightened perception.
